Yesterday the interns cleaned out the Center's kitchen. It was very rewarding because now we know that everything is clean and where we want it. We jammed out to some music and were done by lunch time. Then we delivered the rest of the pots to businesses that were closed on Saturday. After we did that, me and the interns got to go have a date with Jesus. Me and Morganne went back to the nut farm (I sat by the water, and she went into the trees) while Robin went to Blenz (our favorite local coffee shop in town). It was so refreshing just to sit and enjoy being in Canada without all the normal day to day distractions. I got to read my Bible and some more of Captivating (which I love very much). Now technically we aren't supposed to go on dates (it's one of Jamie's rules for us), but this was an exception of course. The others said they had a good time too; Robin even got to talk to the lady at the counter about the potted plant. Robin went undercover and didn't tell the lady that she was from Potter's House, but just asked her what the plant was for. She eventually told her, and then the lady said that she was looking for somewhere to get her kids involved... so Robin told her about Kids Club that's coming up in just a few weeks! Yay for making connections.
Last night we cooked spaghetti and painted signs for the Canada Day parade float. They are looking pretty spiffy if I do say so myself. Don't worry I took pictures. Then me and Eden jammed on the guitar for a little bit while White Chicks played softly in the background.
Today was "We are men day." Joey needed us to help him landscape and stuff, so Jamie dubbed us men for the day. It was really empowering to use our muscles and be out in the sun. I love working outside in Canada because there is like zero humidity and there was a breeze blowing the whole time. I would say that there was no sweat or tears, but I did slice my finger cutting up ham for my salad for lunch today. Good thing Jamie and Eden are such good nurses or I would have lost my finger.
We painted some more (I know, on our men day? O well) and now we are back at the house taking showers and getting ready for dinner. And to end the day of masculinity, we are having steaks at Joey and Maura's house! Mmmm..... my favo(u)rite (they spell that word with a "u" in it here).
Not much else for now. Just Canada Day parade prep (the parade is Saturday, but Canada Day is actually on July 1) for the rest of the week. Interesting tidbit... they call four-wheelers "quads" here and cash registers "tills."
Shout-outs go to Mom today for getting my football tickets! War Eagle eh? Baha. Love you (and you too Dad :)).
