Happy Birthday Scooby

Here I am. Sitting at Jamie's house waiting for the pizza to cook. Last night we had lasagna and a movie night with Cindy and Spencer. While we waited for dinner, Cindy told us her story about how she got to Westbank and how God is constantly providing for her and Spencer. She is so sweet. After dinner, we watched Garfield the Movie and Shrek the Third. Cindy introduced us to this new candy that we absolutely love. It looks like a Reese's, but it's dark chocolate and mint on the inside. Kind of like an Andy's mint, and she freezes them so when you put it in your mouth it can just sit there and melt. Mmmmm..... Spencer had a little too much candy and was bouncing off the walls, so Cindy had him go outside and pick 15 weeds.

This morning we had church with coffee and Timbits (Munchkins)... they are named after the Tim Horton's coffee and donut chain here. Tim Horton's is also how we got the name Timmy for our car. Church was nice. They had one lady from the church talk about her mission trip to China, and another couple talked about their medical mission trip to Nicaragua. Their stories and passion for missions were so refreshing to listen to. At the end, the Elders (kind of like deacons) came up and this precious old man Herman (well really his name is Derek, but I wish it was some cute old man name like Herman) prayed over Rob and Jenny who are leaving the church to go off to Bible College. Rob was the worship leader since the church started. The prayer was so sweet, and you can tell that the church is really going to miss them, but they are ready to see what God is going to do with the church now that the senior pastor and the worship leader are leaving. Joey does a great job of encouraging the church of what God is going to do in the future with all this change.

After church we went to Wendy's and then to Scooby's birthday party. Yep. Today is Scooby's (Cindy and Spencer's dog) 2nd birthday! Since he is two, he got to have two friends over. So Cosmo the dog and Winston the cat came to play! Ha. It was an awesome party with cake, presents, and of course the Happy Birthday song.

Then we went to see Kung Fu Panda! Scadoosh. It was pretty good.

We had the Love Westside worship service tonight. It was nice to see a representation of all the people who participated from the different churches in Westbank and Peachland. There was even a slide show :) Then a trip to the grocery store and back home to eat frozen pizza with the other interns (Kevin and Alicia's) Todd and Jennifer. The movie for tonight is Hairspray! I know Marianna, Jeremiah, and Sarah wish they were here to watch it with me... but just know that I am thinking of you right now.

P.S. Morganne really needs some comments on her blog, so leave her some lovin' too. But don't neglect me, because I absolutely L.O.V.E. all of your precious comments. Love to you.
