We Made It!

Okay, I'm here! Yesterday was more tiring than I thought it would have been, but overall the traveling was really good. I sat next to a guy on the way to Denver, and we talked the whole 3 hours (minus a 20 minute nap of course). It was really cool that I got to share what I was doing going to Canada with him. He is from Michigan but lives in Colorado Springs and is in the army. I enjoyed hearing about his life (like the fact that he is one of 12 kids!). He could not understand why I was going to "intern" in Canada. He thought all I would be doing is handing out flyers "like the Mormons." I explained to him that the Potter's House just wants the community to know that they are a safe place for anyone and everyone to come and feel loved. They build relationships with people and can share Jesus' love with them through making them feel welcome. He shared with me the few times he went to church as a kid and before going to Iraq. He seemed to warm up to the topic of discussing Jesus. I am so glad the Lord gave me the opportunity to share with him my love for Jesus and serving Him. That was probably the first time I've ever talked to an unbeliever so openly about Jesus. It was a non-judgmental, non-pushy conversation. It was like I was just talking about my Best Friend, and after a while he realized the same thing.

The rest of the trip was so good too. I got to sleep a little on the next flight, and then I had a really long lay-over in Calgary. I just sat down at a table with my Smarties Blizzard from Dairy Queen, and had an awesome time journaling, reading Captivating, and listening to music. I listened to All I Ask of You from Phantom of the Opera. Listen to it, that's all I have to say. I almost lost it in the airport.

I made it to the gate and Morganne walked up soon after! We had such a good time on our last flight into Kelowna together. You should hear her stories about her traveling and Jesus helping make sure she made it to all her flights.

We got here and Jamie and Eden cooked for us. It was so good to see them and eat some good food. Then we went to the house where we met Cindy and Spencer. Spencer is Cindy's 7 year old son. They are precious (and so is their dog Scooby). Spencer put chocolates on our pillows to make us feel special :) I can't wait to get to know them better. We didn't do much last night, just unpacked and went to bed at 10 (1 o'clock body time, Dad). Jamie let us sleep in this morning too (what a nice boss). We got up around 10, and now we are at Jamie's getting ready for orientation. Kevin and Alicia are here about to eat lunch with us before we get started. Sorry this one is so long, I'll try not to make them all this long. Love you all.
